PPHS 602 - Foundations in Population Health (Fall semester, Tues & Thurs; 10:00-11:25am)

EPIB 684 - Principles of Environmental Health Sciences I (Fall semester, Friday 9:30am - 12:30pm)
EPIB 685 - Principles of Environmental Health Sciences II (Winter semester, Friday 9:30am - 12:30pm)
Principles of Environmental Health Sciences (Part 1 and Part 2) are 3.0 credit courses that serve as a foundation for McGill’s Interdisciplinary and Collaborative Graduate Program in “Environmental Health Sciences”. The courses are sequentially offered (Part 1 in Fall Term; Part 2 in Winter Term), is team-taught and cross-listed in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Natural Resource Sciences, and Experimental Medicine. These two 3-credit courses provide an overview of key disciplines, methods, and topics in environmental health sciences. Part 1 (fall term) focuses on exposure assessment and toxicology, and Part 2 (winter term) focuses on environmental epidemiology and risk assessment. As such, they are designed as “survey” courses of an enormous subject area. The courses are intended to assemble a cohort of trainees from across McGill units with interests in epidemiology, toxicology, risk assessment, and environmental health sciences. Although basic knowledge of chemistry, human biology and physiology is helpful, there are no set prerequisites. Enrollment requires permission of the instructor.
